The library houses several computer areas. One set of Dell computers (running Microsoft Office 2007 ) resides near the main entrance to the library. This bank of computers as well as a printer is available to students during regular library hours. These computers can be used to access the library collection at Heritage and other libraries state-wide or to do internet research or work on projects using the Microsoft Office 2007 package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher).
In the back of the library, there are also two computer labs for classroom use. Both computer labs are loaded with Microsoft Office 2007 (Office 2007 including Word, Power Point, Excel, Access and Publisher). Library personnel can assist students with any document created with these softwares. Please be advised that we can not support other softwares that you might have at home such as Word Perfect, Microsoft Works, or ClarisWorks since the district is not licensed to load these softwares on our machines. If you are in doubt as to whether or not the software you have at home is compatible with the software we have at school, please check it out prior to completing a major assignment. It is frustrating for both the student and the library personnel when a crucial document can not be opened and/or printed because the software that created it is not available. Students please save your assignments in the TXT file format.
If you have any questions about what software products and/or hardware we have at Heritage, please refer to the HHS Technology Recommendations page.
